Nonno Pescetto's Winery, a Landmark in the Luni Hills
La Cantina Del Nonno Pescetto is a family-run winery now in its fourth generation. Like many other wineries in the Colli di Luni area, it all began with the production and sale of bulk wine from the family winery in the small village of Ponzano Magra.
The company itself was founded in the 1980s thanks to the commitment of Massimo and Paolo Giannoni who, in homage to their father Vittorio, “Pescetto” to his friends, decided to dedicate their newly founded winery to him.
Year after year, Cantina Del Nonno Pescetto has grown both qualitatively, with the production of Colli di Luni DOC and IGT Riviera Ligure di Levante wines, and commercially, continuing the traditional production of bulk wine (sold in the boutique shop adjacent to the winery) and becoming a local reference for the purchase of wine grapes. During the harvest period, the grapes arrive fresh every day from Lazio and Umbria to be sold in crates to private individuals for amateur winemaking.
